Is blind religious beliefs a sign of unshakable delusion?

I don’t believe in any religions as such, but I believe in God. For me religious beliefs are a sign of differentiation among human beings and most often it divides them. Wherever God is he is one and he doesn’t categorize people according to the false status we give each other based upon our last name. Although all religions maintain one common philosophy “Truth is God”. Will it be fair to call everyone who lies a failed religious devotee? That will be too harsh or inconvenient for the vast majority of people in this country. People often use religion according to their convenience or even manipulate it to push their personal agenda. The thing that counts more than praying with closed eyes is what you do when your eyes are open. The path of god is hard and most of us rather than trying to walk in that path, try to compensate God with huge donations, endless prayers and what not. Do we realize that what god will do of that money or those prayers which are a result of our fallen actions?

The Fake Messenger

When there is blind faith, there are always people to use that opportunity for their selfish gains. Religious activities many times turn into obsession, delusions, dissociation and mania among those blind followers. The seriousness can be gauged from the facts that these devotees get sexually, financially and emotionally abused by these self claimed associates of God. Both are equally to be blamed, but the one getting mentally damaged are the devotees. They start fantasizing in a world filled with layers of unreality where they start perceiving a relationship with God which is unreal and simultaneously start to believe in powers of a person which is fictional and grows powerful with time as the addiction and obsession in this unreal faith mounts.

Consequences

You pick up any disease; it effects and paralyses your personal and social life both. The same is the result of blind religious beliefs, it can be said that it is a consequence of activities which are against the nature and causes mental breakdown between what we perceive to be and the reality. The effects of blind religious beliefs are more on people who are emotionally weak as they often try to substitute their own shortcomings of personality by clinging on to something which is twisted and dangerously flawed from the very beginning.

Conclusion

A line in Bhagwat Geeta states “The answer to every question of this universe lies within us”. Looking inside our soul is the key, both devil and God resides within us and at the end of the day it bestows upon us whom we choose. People in need consider a doctor next to god, take that initiative to get help out of the dark clouds of blind faith. Start by reading the Bible, Bhagwad Geeta or Quran all of them convey the same message, it is a disrespect of God of how some individuals choose to interpret them. The presence of God is felt from within just like love, the only place where you are going to find God is within you nowhere else.
